Normal for relief valves to stick?

My 2012 M59 has a couple times lost boom lift and I find the relief valve stuck take apart clean go awhile then repeat. Fluid is OE and fresh. Might go months between. The valve is cost prohibitive if there's any other way.

Its not normal. Which boom and which relief valve - pump, loader or BH?

On the backhoe for M59 for the boom "up" it was 1 time quite the challenge to get the hoe locked into travel mode
