Hi,
I got a 74ish B6000, trans has no screw on oil cap, has a non threaded plug sitting in the hole. Seems to fit but you can just pull out

Does anyone know what plug is used for old B6000.

It came with loader and back hoe. Anyone have info on back hoe or how to change hydraulic oil for it.

So far, started right up and engine runs great.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Does the hole with the cap in it have female threads? If yes I would try a 1/2" pipe thread plug. I know the B7100 & B6100 use 1/2" npt. They were produced not long after the B6000 and they might be the same.

Assuming that you are in USA(I don’t know what your zip code area is) go to Kubota USA website and illustrated parts list and agree to the terms then enter the tractor model number and search for the part and part number. Then look on line for that number and you will probably find a picture of the part.

Thanks for the quick responses and links to manuals. I'm sure I will have more questions as I clean and change the fluids.

Mine had a neoprene friction fit plug. After a few years of ownership, my then 4 year old son accidentally kicked it out and it was lost. I was able to order a new one (1985), but this last summer the replacement cracked and I could not find a replacement. Being a retired chemistry teacher, I used a neoprene tapered stopper that worked fine.

See my thread on 619 hoe drain. If you can't find it, I'll repeat if you ask. I had one for 40+ years, just sold it.

Thanks for the help, I saw both your posts. Found a 3/4 rubber plug at AutoZone which seems to work well for the trans plug. Thanks again

The original had a rib neat the bottom that helped keep it in place. This probably does not, just get in the habit of looking at it when you leave the tractor. Easy to knock out with your feet.
