I have been going over the tractor catching it up on the basics. I have been using it to mow with a finish mower to see what might leak or break.
Why did someone take the temp sender out of the rear of the head and put it into the top of the thermostat housing, where you are to bleed air out on a coolant change?

Going to move it back to the rear of the head and change the thermostat today.

The BX series has no port that needs bleeding for the cooling system.

Sounds like previous owner doesn't understand the concept. There is always coolant flow at previous location. Lots of time at no or low flow at the new location.

Did a flush. Thankfully the plug in the rear of the head came out easly, they had so much thread tape on it i was scared, no threads came with it. Pulled the sensor out of the thermostat housing. Swaped things around without tape this time. Changed the thermostat out. Filled with distilled water and off with the finish mower.
Kinda scary wondering what mess they were trying to cover but as is now temp guage holds steady middle ways. Thery was a splice of wire with two butt connectors that had to mess with the ohms.
I put new 50/50 in with no leaks showing, and changed engine oil and filter. eat d

Was told that was the fix from Kubota to move the sensor away from the muffler. I have my doubts.

Was told the muffler being close to the sensor was making the dash guage read hot, i didn't buy it either.
