Hi everyone, PaulR here. In my late 40's I've finally accumulated enough $$ and desire to get my first Tractor. After months of waiting I finally took delivery yesterday....and quickly realized I have a LOT to learn about operating these things. I'm already looking at quite a few mods and other attachments to add.
She's bare for now, but I will soon have the sweeper with hydraulic angle, and a 50" snowblower with electric chute control.
Eyeballing the new Curtis Cab, it looks really sweet. Would be nice to have for these New England winters.

would strongly recommend under Armour to protect the HST cooling fan and underside of the tractor. The Kubota BX tractors are notorious for breaking fan blades given their location under the tractor (literally just one twig getting hit up into the fan is all it takes), and replacing that little plastic fan requires a lot of things be disassembled. This is one of the very first things I would buy for a new BX, because it will save you a potentially massive headache down the road.

BXpanded is a popular spot here and they offer a good under armor that you can find here:

enjoy!

Awesome, thank you Tornado, that was not on my radar, looks like an essential for sure.
I've looked at the Bxpanded stuff already but didn't see this.
This is going to get even more expensive......lol

Paul,
Congrats on your new purchase!
Regarding the Curtis Cab, why buy? Build your own like I did.

To add to what Tornado mentioned ..... which is a MUST.... A toothbar will help you tremendlously also.

this is the underarmor

One thing I would warn you (unless kubota has solved this issue) is to NOT get the instrument cluster wet..... I mean like leave it in the rain for days, many a BX folk have had to fix a lot of "wiring" problems related to the dash due to rain.

Yea, I'll be getting that toothbar. All I can think of is whacking my shin on it for some reason though.

Ping: That is quite impressive, especially with the wiper and the rubber window surrounds. I've been building my own junk for 30+ years now, (not sure I'm as talented to build something that nice though!). I've finally reached the point in my life where time is more valuable than money, which is probably the reason I'm looking at the Curtis, buy once, cry once.

PaulR, welcome to OTT. She sure is a sweet looking tractor.
If you haven't already read the two OTT threads about problems with new BX23S backhoes, you probably want to read the below links. They may not apply to yours if your dealer did a good prep, but worth the read if you haven't read them.

Wow, 2 separate painted over ungreased zerks. Whomever is installing these hoe's at the factory fell asleep last month. I hope mine isn't in that wheelhouse too. Looks to be my dealership got it, time will tell.

off to find a quality grease gun and a lock 'n lube coupler....

Upon further inspection, I'm part of the bad batch. Wiped the grease zerk, mines painted too.
Not only is the zerk painted, the WHOLE PIN IS PAINTED.

How did Arlo Guthrie put it? This is a conspiracy! The factory messed up this batch of BT603's for sure. Take a look at this pick of my 3 pins, which one is NOT like the other two?

National recall....you heard it here folks. Breaking news...millions of BX 23 S's to be recalled.

I wonder..... does the hoe come in pieces to the dealer? thus a pin in place is painted and those having to be installed are not? notice the locking bolts are not painted... they came in a box TO BE put together at dealer!

looking over my 2013 BX25D..... nothing is painted... pin wise that is
