I just joined the forum. I owned a M4030 SU that I bought new 27 years ago.
Posted it on Craigslist and had 14 calls the first day. It had 1060 hours and has never been touched by a mechanic. Put about 4 or 5 batteries in it and that is it. First man who showed up bought it.
Purchased a new M6060 and it will be delivered tomorrow. I will be doing some cattle farming with my wife's brother and will use it for haying, bushhogging, etc. He is a John Deere man all the way and asked me why my new tractor was not green. I told him I had to get a Kubota because I had to have something I could depend on!!!. He did not think that was real funny. Hope to get some good stuff from you guys on this forum.

I don't have an L6060, but its predecessor, L6740 and love it, I'm sure you will be happy with yours.

I got three rear remotes, third function for my grapple, fluid in the tires along with wheel weights etc.

Did you get the 4wd and cab? Please post pictures when you get it.

I purchased the M6060 without the cab and air but, it does have four wheel drive. I will not be in it enough to justify the extra expense. Did get a call today to go and pull my brother-in-law's 85 HP John Deere out of a bog. The M6060 spun and slung dirt but it brought it out. It will be used for bush hogging and haying on a cattle farm. I tried posting a picture and reply earlier but I did something wrong or the picture may have been too big as it did not show up.

Nice looking Toy... I mean tractor.

I understand about the cab as I did the same to get more implements. My next one, if there ever is a next one, will be with a cab.

Sounded like you needed some weight added to get better traction. Did you get the tires filled?

After I got him unstuck he admitted he had tried to back up and had forgot to take it out of reverse. I think I pulled him partially out while his wheels were turning in reverse. I also did not lock the positrac so I think I was pulling with just one wheel on the rear. Still on a learning curve with the 6060. I think one feature I will like is the PTO speed controller. I went out today and ran the bush hog a while and it kept the speed at 541-542 RPM regardless of how heavy the grass was.

Yes, that is the PTO speed the bush hog manufacture wants. If it overruns too much, it will damage the gears.

What most people do is adjust the tractor speed to a slower range/gear while maintaining the PTO speed at the required 540 RPMs for the heavier grass.

I've always been curious what "safe" is. I try to keep my L4060 just under at like 535-539, but don't know how much engineering safe space there is over 540. I'd like to be able to put a little more power out when brush hogging as it will drop to 500 going through tougher stuff.
