New grapple & brush guard project

A couple weeks ago, I purchased a Glacier Storm single thumb root/brush grapple for my LX2610. It is the 60" wide model. After some costly couplers from my Kubota dealer, it is now hooked up to the 3rd function I had installed when the tractor was purchased. Initial feedback is that I think this is going to be pretty cool.

Input from this group lead me to upgrading the brush guard. The tilting portion was filled in with some flat bar type deck grating. The lower portion, attached to the fixed part of the brush guard, is a piece of 1/4" plate. All parts were fitted, welded, painted, then bolted to the guard.

We'll be cutting some maple trees this weekend and will give a good work out to the new system. Keep ya posted with my results.

I good brush guard will be a greater saver. It amazes me how those sticks find ways to try to destroy your radiator.

Had to make an extension to the latch that allows the guard to tilt forward. A little lathe project.

You will like the solid plate. Sticks will slide along it & out of the way. Mine is similar, but not near as pretty (anymore).
