It will fire up and throttle up fine, but when I go to shut it down, the throttle will pull down, but it won't idle. It remains about 2000 rpm. What do you suppose is up with that ? I thought it might be the regen but if it is, the icons aren't working.

Also, I still have about an acre left to cut in the pasture. I always start the tractor at lowest throttle, allow it to warm up, then go to work. My guess is that it's not a good idea to start it up at 2000 rpm. Correct ?

I assume it is common rail high pressure injection system so be careful with it. They are electronically controlled and expensive to repair or replace.

It could be as simple as some mechanical linkage not being able to properly move. So look at what physically moves to control engine speed IF there is anything mechanical.

It could be as complex as the tractor computer being defective or not getting a proper signal.

Starting it once at 2000 RPM would not be a big deal to me, but doing that the rest of the tractor’s life would be detrimental to the engine.

Finish mowing and then get the dealer involved if there is no mechanical issue. I guess you can check any fuses to see if anything is wrong with the fuses.

I agree with Russell that you would be fine to start it up and finish your mowing and then have the dealer look at it.

My standby generator is a 3.3L turbo diesel and it goes to 1,800 RPM and stays there as soon as it starts and in commercial service these gensets will provide several thousand hours of service. Just don't immediately put a heavy load on your tractor right after starting and I would try to finish it all in one shot in case the minimum speed starts creeping higher because you don't want PTO engagement at excessive RPM.

The hand throttle is a potentiometer; there is nothing mechanical.
A dealer will have to connect KOBD ace to diagnose the concern.

What about the acceleration sensor? It detects the amount of hand throttle lever and foot throttle operation. See page 9-S14 of the WSM for diagnostics.

ac3510!??
My MX4800 just did the same thing. After looking into the slit where the throttle lever goes I put my finger in there and moved a little lever and fixed it. Needed some Teflon spray. YMMV

The foot throttle on my L3901 sticks occasionally. I never use it, but apparently my foot would push it some times. Lubed it and went back to normal. Sometimes still have to tap it to get it to return all the way
