Mower Deck Check Chain Brackets

Just curious as to why Kubota has you installing different check chain brackets when you install a mower deck. See attached pic, red arrows. What advantage do these have over the normal check chain bracket, and why does Kubota have you install them when installing a mower deck?

I believe those are "spacers" that keep the lift brackets spread to make sure they always engage the arms.
As for the chain part of the equation - not sure about that

That's what has me baffled Hokie. The manual has you removing the factory spacers that are the same spacer dimension. The mower deck ones have the hook with the hole that I can't figure out their intended purpose.
