OK, so I have an M6800, 2WD open station with canopy. I have a question about the boot on the transmission shifter. What the crap are those things made of?
Grocery sacks?
I'd be willing to bet a grocery sack would last longer. I am having to replace the boot on my shifter about every 3 months if I'm lucky. For $26 one would think they would be made out of real rubber. Is there anything I can apply to the whatever-material it is made of to keep it from breaking down and tearing? I'm just short of making a domed piece of flat steel and welding it onto the shifter shaft and never have to worry about the boot.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Greg
