OK, so I have an M6800, 2WD open station with canopy. I have a question about the boot on the transmission shifter. What the crap are those things made of? Grocery sacks? I'd be willing to bet a grocery sack would last longer. I am having to replace the boot on my shifter about every 3 months if I'm lucky. For $26 one would think they would be made out of real rubber. Is there anything I can apply to the whatever-material it is made of to keep it from breaking down and tearing? I'm just short of making a domed piece of flat steel and welding it onto the shifter shaft and never have to worry about the boot.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Look at getting a neoprene boot for it, it will hold up a lot better than the thin rubber that they make these out of. ;)

eBay has a tone of them listed.

If you give me measurements, top hole, bottom hole, and total boot diameter and height. ;)
