I am awaiting delivery of a new M7040 with cab and loader. I asked dealer to install a second remote valve.
Will each of the remote valves control a double acting hydraulic cylinder or will I have to provide an additional valve to control the cylinder?
I have one cylinder rotating the chute on my snow blower and a second cylinder raising and lowering a blade for pulling snow away from doors.
Thanks for any advice.

The rear remotes are double acting. If your snow blower is on the rear it should work fine.

Not sure about the front but can't imagine that it is not double acting as well. There is really little use for a single acting hydraulic remote.

I'd recommend getting the third rear remote since the tractor is being worked on anyway. Along with a Top & Tilt you can also run a hydraulic cylinder for another function (like rippers on a box blade).

What GWD said, I have two on our M8540, but when I got our L5740 had three sets with Top and Tilt as I have a box blade with hydraulic rippers. I didn't get any with the float function, but would if I did it again I would get at least one.

I was at the Kubota dealer to arrange for remote valves before he delivers the tractor on Friday. Remote valves are expensive. $860 for the second one with float. I could not afford a third at this time.

I can sure understand that. I didn't pay that much for those on my L5740, but I had it priced configured with the OEM TnT and one extra, also bought some equipment, so I got a break or so it seemed. Our M8540 came stock with two rear remotes and I don't see me getting a third for it.

When I got my M7040 I had all three put on when they made the tractor. I think then it was $600.00 when being built. I use them all. I have had JD's with 6 valves. You can never have to many.

There is a pair of valves that'd fit a 7040 on ebay at the moment, he had 4, I just bought 2. #M7610 same part as my dealer sells for a fair bit less.
