M5040DT Clutch adjustment

Sticker says to adjust clutch if more than 1/2" of free travel and refer to service manual.

2 questions
1- Does this mean if the clutch travels more than 1/2" from fully depressed that it needs to be adjusted until it doesn't?
2 - How do I adjust it? I'm assuming the threaded rod directly behind the clutch pedal, but don't want to start without some advice.

The free play is measured at the top of the pedal travel just before you start to feel resistance. Yes it is adjusted with the turnbuckle #110 on the rods.
