Everyone be careful out there! Going to be a lot of blowing / drifting snow. I've always been pretty good about finding things buried under the snow with the blower :(

I’ll be happy with the 1” to 2” predicted here. Snow only. Freezing rain not welcome. Y’all with the snowblowers and cabs can have fun playing in the deep stuff.

Ditto with the hopes of it being minimal here in central VA. We were without power for a week at the beginning of January. This morning, the power was out for five seconds and the day, clear as a bell. As of now, there is just barely a coating on the ground but it is expected to come down for eight more hours.

Woo Hoo!!

We're about right in the dead-center of that map.....for us it shows ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH snow!! 🤞

Seriously, I hope all contend with it well. Don't overdo yourselves or your tractors.

More importantly, hope everyone keeps power. Winds are going to be stiff here. Look to be much more to the east. Outages are tough in low temps.....BTDT.

Stay safe, everyone.....

This one is heading our way early tomorrow morning. It's been snowing straight down for a few hours. We have 6-10" now and the wind hasn't hit yet.

Didn’t get much here. Went to bed about 11:00 last night with it snowing and just starting to stick. Woke up to this. About 3/8” snow on tree limbs so must not have been much wind with it. Most or all should be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

Hoping the snow bomb hurricane doesn’t materialize for those north of us.

Looks like we missed the worst. About a foot here. Hard to really tell as some of the drifts are over 2' and parts of the deck are only 6-8". Looks like its just about run its course here so will be out to clear the driveway in an hour or so.
Dunno why but the dogs are having a great time in it!

It's in full swing in eastern Canada. Hard to tell how much is on the ground with all this wind.

Well spent an hour + on the driveway and clearing the access to all the mailboxes in the cul-de-sac. Snowblower worked great. I think I'm going to raise the shoes one setting to get closer to the gravel. Ended up using the bucket more than I should have.

The ctfjr chute rotator and deflector mods worked as expected. No more hopping off the tractor every 5 minutes to adjust the deflector.

One lesson learned - I need heated gloves. By the time I finished I could barely press the switches for the chute and deflector. My finger tips were getting frostbite. My mc gloves may have been good riding in 35-40 deg weather but 12* is beyond their use.

This storm didn't give us as much snow as they had predicted, or as the weather lady asked her counterpart. "So Bob, where's that 8 inches you promised me last night?"

Reminds me of the snowstorm in 1959 when it snowed for a few days. A friend and his dad dug a tunnel through the snow to the end of the driveway. I never asked how they did it, but I assume that they started at the street and kept going. Back then, snowplows were not that common, and many of the streets were plowed with road graders. I remember that our street was too steep for the road grader to get up, so they brought in a bulldozer to push a path to the top, and then started to push the snow towards the bottom of the street. The snow piles on the front lawns almost hid the houses.

Holy smokes!! Good job clearing it up.

I’m assuming that from wind/drifting? Does it always drift like that?

Jesus, that’s 5-6 feet in the overhead door….😳
7' out a bit further. It was heavy as well . Took about 40 minutes to clean it up. More to do but it was still snowing and we're going to get freezing rain then back to snow. Tomorrow is another day...

Another over predicted storm. 3-4” here and would have been a lot less if it hadn’t been 5 degrees, so there was a huge fluff factor

I learned long ago do NOT wear gloves !!
You wear simple cotton gloves UNDERNEATH MITTS

Using MITTS alows your fingers to share they're warmth. I can stay out all day wearing MITTS, minutes if gloves.
