Where I’m at it is a “thing” to do a lamb on a spit, had a few rotisseries I made over the years powered by a windshield wiper motor, this time around decided to do something different.
Wanted something compact, foldable, light, bult from stuff laying around the garage (recycles parts) and wanted it powered by different power sources...

this is what I came up with:

I‘ve cut the battery holder drom a broken tool, added some electronics... used a motor with a planetary gear, 6rpm but I can ramp it up a bit or slow it down... voltage regulator.

made it so I can plug it in to the mains power.220V but also run it of off the car battery, or one of the other cordless power tool battery (so-far, Makita, Milwaukee and a 12V Hilti battery).

I would love to see what you guys run, use, if any ideas, improvements... thank you.

one of the addons from the prev. Version:

I found a DC motor with an electronic drive coupled it through a 10x1 angle drive, used a 6 foot piece of stainless pipe with holes drilled about every 10 inches for the cross pins. Its big and heavy and the out side end rests on an old jack stand, Last time it was used was a 150 pound hog built the fire/charcoal on both sides and set it for about 1.5 rpm,, 10 hours later it was done

It also serves as a red neck case tumbler, now I need to figure out how to hook up a grinding drum for apples so the grand babies can make cider

That looks like a cane my sister carved out for Dad from a white thorn tree. If you can it would be interesting to see how you set the drive up
