When I need more information about my tractor, I check out the Kubota Illustrated Parts website, here: https://apps.kubotausa.com/illustrated-parts/. You probably have a similar website available in your part of the world. The L4630DT is one selection I can see, and it appears there are 15 different combinations of tires that were/are available.

Once you choose a set of four tires that work together, you can determine your ratio of rolling circumference. You most likely have 4WD, so the front tires should be overdriven by 2-3%, if I recall correctly.

Another option is to choose a set of tires that is currently recommended for R4, like 10.0-16.5 in front and 17.5-24R in the rear. Unfortunately, the front wheels, rear rims, and rear disks are not interchangeable between the turf and R4 tires. I ran into this issue recently, and disks and rims are not cheap...

Good Luck!

Hi All,

Still strugling with this, as I have no clue what my internal ratio is, and it seems like I'm not going to find out, I'm working on tyres fitted to my Tractor (L4630).
I have the following: Turff Tyres Front: Bridgestone 29 x 12,00 - 15 R/C: 86 Inches; Rear: Bridgestone 475/6/D20 R/C: 126,7 - Now if I understand this all correct, then my ratyio only in R/C between the two is 0,678768.

Now here is my dilema, how do I find a Ag tyre in 16W8 Inch front and 24W12 Inch rear that will be correct?

If I take the following: BKT 70 AGRIMAX RT 765 280/70 R 16 R/C: 2370 Front and BKT 70 AGRIMAX RT 765 380/70 R 24 Rear my ratio is 0,666.

Now that we know this, what is the mathh to see how close I am, also am I on the right trac here?

An R/C of 99 Inches Front and 146 Inches Rear seem to get pritty close to 0.678, but I cannot find a matching pair from the same manufacturer.

Please assist with the math if at all possible. I'm at a loss to this problem without the Internal Ratio.

Thanks and Regards Thys

Lourent,

You've got it right! If your current F:R axle ratio is ~0.68 and you can stay within a reasonable % of that, you shouldn't damage anything. The factory specified R1 tires are 8.3-16 and 14.9x24, so based on your selections, you are pretty close in width with the tires you picked.

Current turf tire ratio: 0.67877
Proposed R1 tire ratio 0.67808

The difference between these (0.0007), divided by a known good ratio (0.67877) and then converted to a % (multiply by 100), we get a tiny number (0.1%). Theoretically, there is no sizeable change in your ratio.

Here's the information straight from the 2009 wholegoods document.

Order code
ALR8869A Front 10 - 16.5 R4 IND. 6ply $328.00
ALR6807 Rear 17.5L - 24 R4 IND 6ply $735.00

You're local dealer might be able to cross the order code to a new order code that would work. Keep in mind the order code through wholegoods (sales group, not parts) include the tire, wheel and valve stem ready to be mounted on your tractor. Price will likely be different give the age of the document.

Hope this helps.

What turfs do you have?

Hi,

My Turf,s: Front: Bridgestone 29 x 12,00 - 15; Rear: Bridgestone 475/6/D20.

As I bought the Tractor as spares, it has only one rear tire and 225/70/15 front car tyres on at the moment.

All the tires are in a sorry state.

Regards Thys.

See, I like a man who buys a tractor as spares, then decides that he needs to fix it up because he really needs a second tractor. :)
