I have an L3901 with 150 hours and notice a few drops of oil on the garage floor. After looking closer, I found oil on the battery tray. I noticed there are 2 oil coolers there. Has anyone had a leak from an oil cooler? The oil is light colored so I believe it is hyd fluid. I haven’t removed the battery to inspect further yet.

Search for “L3301 oil leak”

They discuss a leak that dripped near front axle from a oil cooler if memory is not bad. Different tractor but may get you some ideas to look into.

I see you posted on L3301 oil leak thread but I'll try to help you on this thread. The attachment below is the oil cooler location showing the rubber hoses and hose clamps along with the torque spec for the hose clamps. Note that you refer to two oil coolers, but look at the below attachment, what looks like a smaller oil cooler on right is actually the fuel cooler, the oil cooler is the big one on the left. If you don't already have the workshop manual (WSM) you can download it free BY CLICKING HERE. Look on manual page 7-S12 for where the attachment came from.

Thank you wgator! I can see the hose clamps behind the battery. Exact same setup as described. At this point I believe that could very well be the culprit! Hopefully I can get to it this weekend!

Yes that’s the culprit, I suffered the same problem on my L3301.

My L3901 with 31 hours on it has the same issue with what appears to be oil on the battery tray and on the concrete floor of the barn. I was about to call the dealer but it sounds like the repair is simple, so I guess I will do it myself.

Sounds like Kubota should get with the times and move to constant pressure clamps like the automotive and other industries have done. Not too many are using worm clamps anymore.

Worms belong on fishing hooks, not fuel coolers.

This weekend I removed the battery and found the lower hose clamp to be very loose. The hose had oil on the bottom so I assumed that was the source of my leak. I tightened the lower clamp and the upper clamp and cleaned the area really well. Hopefully it will stay dry.
