With same hp you can handle the load one of two ways, width of cutter or speed of cutting. I much rather use wider cut at slower speed. Reasons are slow speed is easier ride. Slow speed is easier on equipment also, less jarring operator or equipment is good. Less waste in over lapping. (One big reason wider mower is more efficient.) Also at lower speed often I get better cut giving little bit more time for grass you driver over to raise back up for cutting it. In your picture don't see issue with lower weight rough cut mower. I have cut that heavy with my Bushog brand rear finishing mower, just took it slow.

I also have a MX5200 with 6' rotary (RCR1872) and a L3901 with the same rotary cutter (RCR1872). I just finished cutting my 24 acre field (2x-3x a year). My intent was to have my wife mow while I mow, but that's not working out as planned (LOL). Anyway, I mow with the MX in low range, 4 gear and the L3901 in 4th gear. They both cut great. Only exception is when it gets bumpy, then I back down to 3rd. (and yes, I cut saplings as well 2-3" ones-I didn't mow them last year as I though I would leave them for the birds to nest in).
I have a total of 200 acres, 24 is flat field, 176 is hills. I use both tractors, but the MX is the heavy worker.
