What oil should I use? Kubota owners manual lists CF, CF-4, CG-4, CH-4, and CI-4. All of which are obsolete specs. Manual says can not use cj-4. Cj-4 is backwards compatible to the obsolete specs manual says use. Modern specs are back compatible to CJ-4.
I use Rotella T-6 in everything except my cat 988. Use T4 in it.

Use T-6 in the tractor also.

I use 5w-40, and a lot of folks here do too. 15w-40 is good, but the 5w is better for cold starts.

Your 988 Cat?!?? What’s that take, a million gallons of motor oil?!?!🤔😎

Sometimes guys here will say a little kubota is not a 988…..You should know. Impressive machine.

Like I said before, T-6 is good.

I don't remember exactly how much it takes. I fill directly from 55 gallon drum. I think about 17 gallons. It takes a lot. It will pick up 48,000 lbs with the 10,000 lb counter weight on.
