L245 to L245DT front axle conversion.

Has anyone converted a 2wd to a 4wd?
I have a source for a DT that is parts and I have the 245 now.
Is it just a matter of swapping the axle and the lower case for the transmission?
Thanks in advance for any input.

((The motor on the DT is no good or Id just combine to two)).

I thought a similar question came up recently, but I can't find it. How about putting the good engine in the DT?

You'd have transmission, drive shaft, shift linkage, possibly steering, to swap. At least the engine oil pan is the same. Compare the 2 parts lists for differences.

Yea swap the motor as there is quite a few parts that could be different.

Yes, it's a two step process.

I converted my IH624 into cash then converted that into a 4WD drive tractor at the dealership.
