Just purchased an L175 with 1400 hrs. Wanting to know if there is an easy way to add remote hydraulic connection for either a log splitter or hydraulic cylinder. I'm not a fan of cutting into the factory lines. I did come across this adapter on a Yanmar site. Wondering if something exists for the early L series tractors.

Thanks!

That is actually one of the easier ones to tap, there is already a plate to tap into the system (in yellow), problem is you will need to get someone to make a plate to bolt on that has threaded ports.
I don't know of the P/N or availability of a factory adapter.

Using that to run a log splitter will be terribly slow. The pump on that model was very small and weak originally.
It will run a normal remote cylinder fine, but the demand of a log splitter is too much.

Thanks for the replay and information.... My real focus is on adding a remote cylinder that could be used for control dumping of a small rear bucket/carry all. Do you know of anyone who has made the hydraulic tap block for these before that could make one up for me?

Looking forward to picking up the tractor this weekend if the weather holds out!

So,L1501 use this plate also?
Thinking of adding a control for various purposes....front plow blade, rear blade angle control.

Wolfman, got a picture or 2 of the exact location you drilled at? Been thinking of doing just what you described, to pull an aerator, with my L-185...:D

On the backside of the plate is holes already 1/2 way through the plate, just run them all the way through and then plug the cross port.

Hi Wolfman. I have been searching this forum for the best possible way to tap into my L285 hydraulic system for a rear remote installation. I stumbled upon this thread and I like it. I have that same plate on my tractor and I wonder if you could advise me on a few things? Do I have to buy a new plate and tap into it or should I use the one I have? Can I use JB weld to plug the cross port or what do you suggest? Another one of my concerns is that a read somewhere to buy a hydraulic valve according to the gal/min of my system and my shop manual doesn't indicate the gal/min for my tractor (Kubota L285). Do you have any suggestions on what to do there?

I would suggest having a plate made, it's far easier and safer.
You would never want to use JB weld on Hydraulics as the pressure (up to 3000 psi) is far to great for it to work, or work safely.

As for the GPM it's somewhere in the range of 3.0 to 5.0 (no exact numbers).

Thank you Wolfman. I took the plate off of my tractor and I will get one made. Do you think a valve with this description would work.
Function 4-Position, 4-Way
Type Two Spool-Float/Standard
Max. Continuous Pressure 3,750 PSI
Max. Continuous Flow 9 GPM
Relief Valve Setting 2,100 PSI
Relief Valve Range 1,500 to 3,750 PSI
Inlet Port(s) 10 Side/8 Top ORBF
Outlet Port(s) 10 Side/8 Top ORBF
Work Ports 8 ORBF
Max. Return Line Pressure 1,100 PSI
Load Check(s) One Per Valve
Handle Mount Vertical/Horizontal
Convertible To Closed Center Yes
Convertible To Power Beyond Yes
Convertible Spool Types Motor, Single-Acting . Thanks again. Have a great day.

I need some help here. I’m doing the same that you just did now only thing I have to know. Is those two hoses coming from the block
Where do they go on the ports on the spool valve?
Do they go on the pressure and the tank ports
Or the pressure and beyond ports
Thanks

Block connects to pressure and power beyond ports on your valve. You also need a third tank return from the valve which typically goes to the hydraulic filler.

So, according to this picture like you said, where is the hose that goes back to the transmission?
I’ve seen a lot of images on the Internet, but they are not using that third hose. Can you please help thanks, Mark.
