Hello all! Thanks for the add

A truck farmer friend reached out to me to have a look at her L1500, which was imported by her late bosses husband, from their farm, when they immigrated from Japan.

A few years ago she was tucking it away for the winter and added a fuel treatment product- she couldn't remember which one- but I'm guessing Sea Foam or something the like. Anyway, that summer she says there was a noticeable power reduction. It used to run a 4'(?) tiller and finish mower, and now bogs heavily under slight load. She replaced the fuel filter thinking it was comprimised, but there was no change to the power delivery.

The engine idles out nice and revs fine. There are no noticeable leaks other than some diesel slobber at the exhaust.

Any thoughts of where to begin would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

It sounds like it has an injector or ring issue, it should not have slobber, kubota engines don't do that.

Good information to know Wolfman. I'll probably start with a compression test. If is it looking more like injectors, where should i start looking for a pair?
Oregon Fuel injection for the Injectors.
There are a ton of them for sale on ebay and amazon and other sellers that are complete junk.

My 1500 does. Has good power.
Is it slobber, or just water / condensation that's causing it to look like slobber?
If you getting slobber, you really need to look into what's causing it.
