He i just bought a new MX5400 and was not able to get my 3PT auger hooked up to it. Seems the PTO shaft extends out further then the top link bracket and my auger driveshaft seems to long in this configuration. My older tractor PTO shaft and top link bracket are equal distance making hooking up the Auger no problem. Anyone have a fix or any ideas? I thought possibly weld up a new top link bracket that extends out further maybe 6" or so???

Cut down the PTO shaft? Are you trying to use the top link with the auger? All the 3pt ones I’ve seen you don’t use the top link. The auger attaches in place of the top link.

N.Y,
My post hole digger doesn't use the top link either. The arm pins to the mount after removing the turn buckle. As long as the pto shaft clears everything it seems like the shaft length may need adjusting as stated above. If it hits something then it may take some fabrication.

Thee auger PTO shaft should extend and retract a far greater distance then what is required to hook it up.
It may mean that either your shaft is not extending all the way (which is odd because they will fall apart if expended too much as they have no stop) it may be doing this because it needs taken apart and cleaned.
Normally when you hook up the PTO, The three point is up and the drive shaft should be at its greatest length so the top link being back further should not matter.
