Picked up a Vevor mag drill and have a question on the extra Jacobs chuck. There's an adaptor that has a Weldon end for the drill and a tapered end for the chuck. Does the tapered adaptor simply get driven into the chuck? We had Hougen and Yancy annular cutters at work, but the Jacobs chucks had the Weldon adaptors welded into them. Thank you.

Yes. A Jacob's taper chuck is simply driven onto an adapter. There are 2 ways to remove an adapter. There should be a small thru hole inside the chuck where you can use a sturdy pin punch and drive the adapter off. The other method is you have to buy a set of wedges that you drive against each other in the small gap between the chuck and the adapter.

Thank you! It seemed that would be the case, but I didn't know.
