Im not sure where the term whistle pig came from, I have been told they make a whistle when danger is around though I have never heard it. I know that if you see one kind of laying down or eating and you give a sharp whistle they will stand up to see what the noise is, usually it's a bang and a dull thud

For years the deer left the tomatoes plants alone. Suddenly they have developed a taste for them so its time for a fence since I cant give them all a heart attack.
