I have a B6100 tractor 1983 and want to check the voltage output without taking the unit out and placing it on a test stand.
Any suggestions as to how to do that?

If you have a multi meter, checks are simple.

To check dynamo ( which rarely fails) disconnect its two output leads which are usually blue.

Measure AC voltage between the two blue leads Expect to see around 30 volts,

With system totally connected, measure battery voltage with engine at max rpm. This time you are measuring DC voltage and expect to see 13.8 to 14.2.

Ditto to what Dave said - measure AC at the wires - and DC at the Battery.

Measure Dynamo AC voltage at full throttle.
