Did my 400 hr hydraulic change. Manual shows 4 normal plugs to remove. One on each side of rear axle and 2 on belly. However my forward most belly plug wasnt an external hex headed nut like manual shows. Instead it was a allen head plug flush with the belly shown in the picture. So i didnt remove it. I drained exactly 10 gal and replaced exactly 10 gallons. Sight glass shows full. Manual said it shouldve been 11.6 gallons. Did i need to remove that flat plug?

If you haven't refilled it yet, I'd suggest removing it per the manual, It's a 10mm allen and you'll need a beaker bar or impact, ensure that the allen wrench is fully inserted. If you've filled it, you probably are OK. You may want to consider breaking it loose and retighten without removing it, that way next time you can easily drain everything. Just my .02

Thanks. I did already fill it, so I'll have to pull it next time. That area of the transmission doest sit any lower than the area behind it with the other drain plug so I assumed it would drain. Its just getting 10 gal instead of 11.6 that puzzled me.

I never pull the allen head plug it's useless

just pull the other 3

loosen the filter and let as much fluid run out of it as you can, it will almost fill a bucket. Then drain the rest via the 3 plugs listed above. I find that the easiest way. You'll never get all of it out anyway.
