Happy Thanksgiving to all. Just had ribs with baked potato and beans. Ribs from the local meat market cooked on the Weber kettle, and spuds from the garden. Kids coming Sunday for the traditional meal.

Interesting story about the above picture. I was both a friend and a neighbor of Big Bird (Caroll Spinney), and every year we would exchange Christmas cards. The day that the card from Caroll arrived, I learned about his passing. For many years prior I would post this picture (above) on various internet sites. I just couldn't do it after he died. He was truly a remarkable human being that loved both adults and children and shared that love with all that knew him. I sure do miss him.

Hope all you folks had a great Thanksgiving! My daughter got married the weekend prior. We had "new family" from Florida and Colombia over for a Texas style meal- 28 lbs of smoked brisket, corn bread casserole, smoked mashed potatoes and American apple pie! 20 people deep in our humble home. Bonfire, bourbon and real Cuban cigars to finish the night!
