2 questions, first are the fittings on the B and Kubota equipment metric threads cause greasing up the FEL and MMM I found several gone and need replaced. Also why will my grease gun fit tight one some and others wont even stay in the nozzle? They seem to be smaller.

They are probably metric. If you can get to the Kubota website and the illustrated parts list you can find the fittings in question and order them from your dealer. Additionally you can see if they are all the same part number used in different locations. Then buy one or a package at the dealer and figure out the thread size if you want to get them at local supply shop. I don’t recall that the dealer price was very high at all. I think they even had them in stock.

I do recall that on my L185 there were at least two part numbers involved that they listed for the different location but I can’t recall if that was straight and 45 degree or different sizes.

If you need help in getting the part numbers let us know. I recall that you’re somewhat reluctant on computer use but may be confusing you with another poster.

Edit = forgot to say about the fitting being tight or loose on gun coupler. I generally see that as dirt/grease buildup that does not let coupler fit on correctly. Clean the up of the dried up crud on outside and see if it works better. I guess the can be worn down but have doubts that happens frequently.

I try to keep mine covered up with caps t keep them a bit cleaner and easier to find since the color stands out.

you can buy kits with an assortment of zerks, straight, 45s, 90s in varying metric sizes, they are really handy to have around

I'm a big fan of the LockN'Lubes. No adjustment needed but there are some tight spots they don't fit into.

You are right, and that is why a site like this is so important. There are things some take for granted, and others like my self find those things, amazing.

Many times the zerks are not installed all the way. If they were not checked at the initial PDI, then they need to be checked(screwed down).

Grease-zerks are sold in “kits” with varying-sizes on both Metric and SAE threads. Some thread are “machine” (straight-sided) but most are “pipe” (expanding) threads. Those which appear to not be fully tightened-down... MAY be improper substitutes which have been installed (SAE into Metric or Metric into SAE threaded fittings.).
Best solution? Purchase “Assortment kits” in both Metric and SAE and carefully screw the replacements in by-hand before final tightening to be certain of the threads. And note the size of the “ball” or “socket” so you don’t have to constantly adjust your gun-nozzle/collet.
The problem with Kubota tractors/Loaders often is the tractors are made in Japan and the Loaders in USA so therefore the “mix” of Metric/SAE.
Hope this helps.

The grease gun tip is typically adjustable.

Lol after all these years (decades!) of swearing at my grease gun tip (WHY won't it fit? Why too tight? Why does it leak? Why working now and not before?) I finally stumbled on the adjustment mechanism last year.

Always works now!

On my 80s M5030DT loader the grease fittings were British pipe taper. Newer B26 lost a 1/8” fitting on the ssqa wedge pin. Tried metric but no go. Used SAE and could start but felt like it was crossing. Tighten anyway and worked. Some sizes the difference between SAE and British pipe slight. Have large assortment of both SAE and metric. British assortments are expensive. Best source was the dealer.

some of the hydraulic threaded connectors are also British pipe so be careful.

These Kubtoas often use JIC for Hydraulic connections, so be careful. With JIC (NorthAmerican), BSP (British), GAZ (French), DIN (German), JIS (Japanese).... and then each has several sub-types...it can get tricky.
Here’s a manual which can help identify what type you may encounter: https://sircoindustrialerie.com/pdf/thread-types.pdf

Hope this helps.
