Hello the OTT forum!! It’s been “a-month-a-Sunday’s” since I’ve posted on the OTT forum. Between my wife an I having the covid and other sech sundrie happenings, I haven’t had much chance or the desire to get back to finishing up the 48” mower deck for the G5200. But, I can hear the grass growing and the weather turnt real nice about a week ago, here in the Smokies, so I figured it’s about time to get going on it again!! I’ve added a few pictures, from the start to almost done

. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s been a “real experience”!!! A couple more pieces and another 1/2 mile of weld an it should be done. The deck was completely rotted and I’ve replaced pretty-much the entire top of the deck. It was pretty intimidating at times, especially these last pieces, but I just dug in and did it. That’s really all I could do, or just give up. That weren’t gonna happen!! Enough rambling. Take care all. Semper-fi & This We’ll Defend, Mike

GREAT JOB!! I spent several months fixing the mowdeck for my G5200 I cant count how many times I started to weld only to find MORE cheezy metal to cut out.

I even bent up a length of rerod to wrap the lower lip of the mowdeck. (to match the one on the front)

These things are are made from crappy recycled steel. (NOT made in Japan like the G5200 itself) How can something be so heavy and still rust into oblivion that fast?

It amazes me that it takes 2 grown men to lift this thing onto sawhorses..... A mowdeck from a modern Cub-Cadet lawnmower can be carried by a 12 year old.

If you keep it long enough, you can replace the rest of the original metal in the next round of repairs. :)
Nice job!
