I'm looking for a flexible setup to mount suitcase weights on either the front or rear of the tractor depending on the situation. I'd also like to have no weights/brackets mounted on the tractor such that the loader or other implements can be on the the 3ph and not interfere. I think I've found a bolt on/pin on solution for my Kubota BX2670-1.

First for the front suitcase weight brackets.

This bracket can be bolted on with the guard in place, has a 2" receiver, and can remain on the tractor even with the front end loader installed.

Next we need a 2" receiver bracket for suitcase weights.

After that we need a 2" receiver for the rear.

Either:

Or for added clearance:

Finally inexpensive suitcase weights.

This should allow the weights to be installed on the front or rear of the tractor, and all the brackets to be easily removed such that they don't interfere with the front end loader. It would also allow you to keep the weights and weight bracket if you ever sold the tractor, to put on the next tractor.

A lot of grief to add on for better traction. As to the front guard type bracket, have fun removing it when doing maintenance on the engine. One came with my BX and luckily one of our members here needed it so I sent it to him. Good riddance.

Wow, thanks for sharing your research. I just purchased a used (300 hr) Bx2230 and a LP RCR 1548 for use on my sloped 2 acre meadow. Already made a 200 foot swale to direct storm water (containing stilt grass seed) to a sacrificial area that will always be mowed.

Was looking for a way to keep my front wheels on the ground at a reasonable cost. Not only have you done that, but the system you put together is highly flexible and easy to change around. The standard weight bracket is always there and adds length to the front end when mowing. That receiver avoids that.

So for my application, I figure around $350 total if I buy the weights new; I travel past a used tractor equip. place often and should be able to buy weights cheaper.

Given I can braze but never really was happy with my welding, (and time is worth something), this is a great solution.

Regards,
