yesterday i discovered my rad spout was broken. i was going to silversolder
the peice back on. when i was cleaning the spout i discovered a crack going
down. time for rethink. i got a old rad from the boneyard and the spout
was identical except it was good. i could not see or feel any mechanicl lock
so i heated it up with a propane torch and picked the spout with my gloved
hand. yeeepeeeee. i lowered the coolent level to the rad top soldered joint.
i wanted to make sure i didn,t screw that up. the bota spout came off
easy too. soldered the salvaged one in place and whent to town, picked up
overflow hose. had to get vacum hose as thats all they had. got a new
13 lb rad cap with the double seal and check valve $8. gates #31527.
i had the bota out for an hr in a ft of heavy snow up and down the feild,
wide open throtle and the coolant level came up 2 in and i let it idle for
10 min and backed it in the shop and check the level on the overflow tank
and it was already back to where i started. YAAAHHHHOOOOO.
happy new year everyone Louis

this next pic is the boneyard rad
