Has anybody changed the way the older FEL's had their own pump mounted on the front of the tractor, does the tractors own pump have enough of power to run these type of loaders?

I run my loader off the B7100 onboard hydraulics, lots of power can lift more than the tractor can handle, but it is slow.

I have the front pump and can lift 600 lbs. I put 10w30 oil in it after I flushed it and it is really slow until it warms up in the winter. I plan to change it out to transmission fluid of UDT when I get a chance.

John, what is the cycle time from ground level to full raise. I have debated buying a pump and pluming it up, but unless its a big speed up I'm too cheap to go there.

I'm building a FEL for My Satoh beaver right now (same size as a B5100) I was wondering the same thing. I have a pump and some adapters I could make work off of the electric front pto. If not, I have to spend 4-600 bucks to buy the hydraulic tap for the tractor hydraulics...

I had them put a front pump on my old L185DT just after I bought it. I believe the pump made it 3-4 times as fast, a BIG difference. Look up the gpm of the hydraulics system in the specs, and the gpm of the front pump at about 2500 rpm, and simple division should get you the speed increase.
There is a huge difference between waiting 12 seconds for the bucket to lift to its max, and only waiting 3-4 seconds! There is also much better coordination between bucket speed and tractor speed when you are digging into a dirt bank or pile.

gktilton, sorry I just saw your question today, so I timed it while I was out with it. From the ground to fully up was 12 seconds. Remember, that is with 10w30 oil. I imagine transmission fluid or UDT would make it quicker.

I have the B6100D and I installed an LA211 FEL onto it. I used the onboard pump and it does everything that I ask of it and more. In fact it is almost too fast under no load. As for being under load, it is awesome. At 3/4 throttle I can do anything I want or need to do, but most times run 1/2 throttle or less with little to no loss of performance. Pics are on here somewhere of my B6100 with its FEL. Just my 2 cents.
