I just got an F-2400 4wd mower.
Inner gauge wheels missing & blades have seen better days.
Is there a way to swing the deck vertical or do I have to remove the deck?
Thanks for any help, Laddie

I would think you could ride over a "hillside" and allow the deck to over hang where the land goes down.
Parking brake on and it will allow you to climb under - I would get or borrow an impact to remove the nuts/bolts.

I had an old bushhog - it whipped my ass trying to remove the nuts that held the blades on .......

finally drove it over a small hillside and got under with a grinder;) .......

then again it may just be easier to remove and flip the deck! :)

I have a F2400 too and use a slight hill to park on then lift the deck. Make sure you put a jack stand or something suitable to assure the deck doesn't come down on you.

I am not familiar with F2400 and am not sure if your deck has that feature but owner's manual for your mower deck would cover it.

My F3060 came with RC72R-F30 Rear Discharge Deck and has it's own manual which covers how to put it in "Safe Position"

I just replaced the blades yesterday and flipped the deck as shown, but instead of 2x8 boards, I just drove it onto car service ramps.
Swinging the deck like this takes a little bit of muscle but is perfectly doable by one average size guy.

Helper would be handy.

I do not have an owners manual.

I jacked the front end about 8" put wood under tires, put 2x4 under deck.
I made 3 - 7/8" ID x 1 1/8" OD bushings/sleeves on my Reed Prentice lathe.
24 1/2" blades were hitting the deck.
So I trimmed 1/4" off the diameter on my Bridgeport milling machine.
Now it works like a charm.

Sounds very good glad it worked out!

Is it possible to swing your mower deck to a vertical "service" position like shown in post #4 above?

Could you post a photo from above to give us some idea of what the deck looks like?
