The brakes are wet on most of the machines so they stay a little cooler bathed in fluid. You prolly just seated the bands.

One day, I couldn't figger out why my tractor wouldn't go up the hill in high range without coughing. DOH! I see an idiot light in my future too.

:)

I was grading the private road tonight after work and had to stop to adjust the 3pt. Got back on and started up the hill with the box blade down. I thought to myself that it was pulling really hard. Turns out that I have the parking brake on. What is really bad, the L3901 has a light on the dash to tell you that you have the brake set.

I didn't know the 3901 had a parking brake light, I wonder if it can be installed in older models - I would love to have one - guess I will be calling the dealer

On mecanical drive combines this happened quite often in the past, now with the hydros you don t need to put the brake on as long as the engine is running.

Once i followed my brother back home on the second combine, he had his hand brake on, NH 8060 or 8070 in the late 80ies, sparks flying of the low mounted gear box, hand brake was mounted at the side of the gear box, when we arrived at home, still sparks and flames from underneath, i grabbed a fire extinguisher to finish it off and got bad words afterwards for emptying the extinguisher, to have thrown away the contents of it....

Before I drive the tractor I tap the brake pedal and press the Auto regeneration button. Just got into that habit before the tractor is operated.
Now on my prior tractor, a L3800, I ran it with brakes on numerous times...
A factory beeper when this happens would be nice!
With the hst it seems brakes just aren't used unless parked on a slope.
Have fun with your tractor!!!

i dont feel so bad now, i did it a few times. i finally stuck a piece of tape on the dash with BRAKE!! on it right where i can't miss it.
That is a great idea! I forget to release the brake at least a couple of times a month.
I wonder if Kubota could put an idiot light in the insrument panel that would light is the brake is engaged?

blank,

Nope. Impossible. Kubota has used up their entire supply of contact switches on seats and HST pedals.

Safety first. Its all about the "chidren."

Kubota does use a brake dash light on several models, L48 for example. Why Kubota doesn't simply apply the technology to other models is a worthy question.

Of course, at least in my case, an "idiot light" doesn't even help an idiot. I still run with the brake on.

On my Polaris Ranger when you set the hand brake, you're not pulling out without releasing it. The hand brake sets an engine RPM limiter. The engine speed is suppressed when the brake is engaged. This keeps you from driving off with the brake set and ruining the pads and rotors.

Seems like simple technology for tractor also.
