I notice another Kubota l175 with a transmission problem on the furom, my mine is a bit different. I am also a new guy to this forum.

I love my tractor but I am very concerned. Today I was mowing the lawn, using the attached woods L59 belly mower, when I started to hear a howling coming from the tractor. At first I thought it was the mower, but I just lubed the deck and the tractor - didnt make sense. Stopped the tractor, no load on the tractor and the howl went away. I decided to quit for the day. Drove 50 yards to my garage and half way the howl came back. I knew it was more than the mower. It howls in gear and at idle in neutral. The greater the rpm, the louder the noise. It appears to come from the transmission and not the engine. Any ideas? how much will this set me back to have a transmission rebuilt? Could a clutch make this sound?
