The title just about says it all. I'm not sure how I'm going to do this, but I want to get the 816lb of suitcase weights off the front of the M6060 and put them on a rack for storage along with the other two weights that don't fit on the mounting bracket. I want this rack to be usable as 3-point ballast if needed, but primarily it's a storage rack for the weights.

First thing will be to make some legs (removable or foldable) so that the QH connection points are at a suitable height for connecting/disconnecting, and the entire thing is stable with 1,020lb of suitcase weights. I plan to use the receiver for a removable leg and make this thing a tripod. Second thing is figuring out how to hang the weights on the receiver bracket, and the third part is deciding if I want the entire thing to be reversible such that the King Kutter retains its current function. I'm not towing trailers off the 3-point these days so it's not essential to retain existing function, but I'll probably go that way.

Here's the King Kutter reciever that I bought for $50 and a stock photo showing the other side.

Sounds like a fun project. I could not solve the ‘legs’ problem for my uses and concern of tip over….not quite same as your uses but maybe the ‘legs’ could be similar. Keep us posted (I’d like to steal your idea😂)

I have a Heavy Hitch that will hold 8 70lb and 6 or 8 42lb weights. I can get pictures and measurements tomorrow night if that would be of any use to you.

Maybe find a quick hitch. Add a cross plate to it, for hanging the weights, and tie that into the king cutter. The trailer hitch portion can be the set-back and also tie in.

@sgr, that's very kind but I need to be able to hang ten of these 102lb weights. Earlier in the year I realized that I needed to grind the underside corner where the weld was interfering with it to get the weights to sit down on the bracket. It's a Kubota bracket but the weights are sold by Everything Attachments and are made in India so any "out of the box" stuff that works would mostly be luck.

You may consider something that would hold the weights and goes into the receiver hitch.

see this company website for ideas for your project and see how they decided to do the storage

I took a look at the website. Some nice stuff there but no rack/3-point combination and nothing for ten weights that weigh 102lb each. I had thought about using a section of round stock for the weights to hang onto and might still go that route.

I'm working on getting the King Kutter standing on three legs that are removable. That's the first part of the puzzle.

I've decided to make a suitcase weight holder/rear ballast from scratch. I cobbled together some 3/8" walled 3"x3" tubing from another project, cut some plates and started on a new implement. I'm copying some of the features of the King Kutter that I like and will follow up when the project is further along.

Probably less work starting this project from scratch.

Yeah, and I wasn't feeling great about messing up the King Kutter in a big way. I have enough scrap steel laying around that I should be able to make something half decent that does the job. It'll be overbuilt as usual.

Well if it's worth doing, it's probably worth over-doing! 😂
