Can the D950 be swappd with D1105?

Hello everyone,
I have a B8200 and the engine is toast, I would like to know if the D1105 rated at around 23 HP is interchangeable with my D950? Thanks in advance for your help.

Oil pan configuration, 16 bolt engine to frame mount, bell housing, crank to fly wheel flange.
Those are the critical items to check.

Is the 1105 loose?

Pull yours and take to compare. This has been discussed here before and I don't know if anyone has come to a definite conclusion.

Thanks for the reply Murphy,
I'm aware that all the things that you mentioned are what need to be looked at, was hoping that someone here had already blazed this trail. I have my engine out, bought a motor off ebay that was claimed to be excellent runner. I had it shipped to me and when I got it it would only turn about 250 degrees. Long story short with some PB blaster and patience I got the engine turning and mounted it into my tractor to see what the compression was and to try to start it. No go. rear cylinder has 50 psi center 175 didn't bother with the front at that point. The seller is very good and is taking motor back with full refund.

The original engine has a damaged sleeve in the center cylinder from a cracked head than sat for a long time with water in it. I had head rebuilt and cracks repaired but the head is still bad, I knew it was crap shoot going in. Anyway, I'm looking at all my options from getting new head and re sleeveing to reman to bigger runner or good used D950.

The 1105 I mentioned is to far away to do the exploration. Hopefully someone here has done a swap with an 1105 or 1005, and I may just bite the bullet and get the reman and be done with it. Thanks again.

From what I've read and explored, the D1105 and D1005 are direct swaps with the D905, and since the D905 does not swap with the D950 I don't think that it will work, but I could be wrong!
I don't have a D905 here to compare to, but looking at pic's of the 2 side by side they do look to be significantly different.
I swapped my D750 for a D950 and those are a direct swap, I still have the complete D750 here waiting to find a new home.

Any chance you might know what will fit in place of the D650 in my B6100E? I bought it not running over 4 years ago. Replaced 2 glow plugs and have been using it for little jobs. It has so much blowby you can't be near it if the wind isn't blowing. It has finally gotten so it won't start below 80 degrees. It has alway had oil coming out the rear cylinder and am afraid to pull it down expecting the worst.

You should be able to use a D650,D750,D850,D950, I do believe they all have the same bolt patterns.;)

Thanks. And one other thing I have learned to look for is that there is the setup to drive the hydraulic. Some engines don't even have a hole in the block for it.

Most of them have it, but some will have the opening on the back of the injector pump covered by a blank plate. Remove plate and there you are, that was how my swap was. (I went from a 16HP D750 thermo-siphon engine to a 21.5HP D950 with a water pump.)
