Phoneman,

Welcome to the forum,

Have you greased it well over time? You do know about the zerk under the floor mat?

Have you looked up under at the linkage? Possible a stick has it bound up?

Did this happen all of a sudden? Give us a little more background on what lead up to this.

follow the linkage rod from the pedal to the transmission. On the transmission end of the link rod, there is a ball joint that has a 5/16-24 nut holding the stud to the trunion shaft link of the transmission. That nut is not a lock nut and can come off. When it does, a lot of times it will go one direction but not the other because the rod will push the trunion arm, but without it being attached it can't pull it. Sometimes dealers will miss that. It's worth looking at regardless of what the actual issue is because it can stop you in your tracks and it's not much fun to replace out in a field.
