Hello why does Kubota insist and not providing any clearance between tires and inner fender wells example for chains. Honestly is MIND blowingly stupid. ok Im over it. I love my BX23S but when I went to sling a chain over the right hand tire when seated right tire) and noticed 1.250 clearance between the R14 tire and the front loader controls I well was DISPLEASED and would have like to meet the engineering team to provide some education. So I was advised that I could run a set of BX1880 tires which are 3.5 inches smaller. Im planning on running the BX2612 Straight blade plow on a flat or slight pitch driveway but I want to know my options for chains if needed. I WILL be fabricating an inner wheel well to protect the inner hydraulic lines and the loaded controls from possible chain loosening and chain slap. ....1.25 inches of clearance man still cant get over that. Any advice on 1880 tires and chains on a bx23S I realize I have to swap all 4 as its 4wd. Thanks Eddie

Personally I wouldn't run chains on the BX2380 without the wheel spacers. Not much for shielding the lines on the inner side of the wheel. IIRC, there are one or two narrow, but relatively thin bars protecting the hardware. Somewhere here at OTT someone posted an image of what I think is that bar after being mangled by I think was a loose chain.

Even with spacers I check the chain tension before starting up LOT. Chains sort of scare me. My neighbor on his truck damaged some expensive components.

Sorry I should have written I have like 3 inch or 2 inch wheel spacers the issue is the top of the tire to the Loader controls not the inner side all of the tire. The top of the tire R14 is about 1.25 inches from the loader controls what's going to happen with chains and or what if one gets loose ? Did anyone sever run bx 1880 tires are they in fact 3.5 inches LESS in height?

IIRC, 2 inch wheel spacers are the max Kubota recommends on the BX series. Reposting the image from another thread regarding chains. Is your 1.25 inch reference the space between the grey shield plate and tire in the left image? If so, adequate even without spacers for the heavy duty 2-link ladder chains I have mounted not the BX2380. Just need to check that chain tension is adequate. It's on the inner side of the driver's right side wheel that might be an issue without spacers.

I’ve run chains on a BX2360 for years without spacers.

It is a tight fit all-around. As someone said, spacers don’t fix clearance to fenders, loader controls, etc.

Have to keep them tight and I tend to cheat them to the outside.
