Bent a blade on my BX2200 mid mount mower deck. Purchased new Kubota cups, blades and cone washers to get things back to where the blades hopefully slip like they are supposed to instead of bending. Can I do something to keep these 'slip surfaces' from rusting without screwing up the gripping power? New blades are painted but the cups and cone washers are not.

Those "cone washers" are actually disk springs ( Belleville Washers)
that applies pressure to the connection once you clamp down on it with the proper amount of force.
I would not use anything on them or you would alter the clamping force. Use them as they came
The outside protective cups you can do what you want to.
