Starting a new one here, which is similar to the 'show us your toolbox' thread. I have a few to share, but I'll start with one and see how everyone chimes in first.
When I got my L2500, I did NOT like the giant (125mm) hole in the bonnet to access the radiator cap. All kinds of debris falls through that hole, right onto the radiator...and fan, and fanbelts. What a mess.
To the Parts Diagram. WHAT? Kubota never spec-ed a removable plug for that hole in the L2500 hood? Bizarre.
Then, last week, when I was wandering around MGD's yard I spotted an L4300...with the exact same hole in the bonnet. I could see from the paint that this tractor had a plug in that hole, recently.
To the Parts Diagram for the L4300. Ayup. Part Number is TC030-18610. $22 and change, Messick's had it in stock.
Now, isn't this MUCH better?!?!:
It's made of nice quality synthetic rubber, with a groove around the edge that fits the folded over sheet metal around the hole. Perfectly.
I just love finding opportunities to retrofit better parts from later models onto earlier tractors/cars/trucks!
Who's next?
