BL45-90 for L4630?

I have an L4630 with enclosed cab and have an opportunity to buy a used BL45-90 locally. I have no pressing use for a backhoe, but figure it might be handy. Is this a decent match to the tractor? Main project that comes to mind is a 12" culvert at the bottom of the driveway. Is this a decent unit for that task.

Asking price is $3000. Is that reasonable assuming decent condition? What are the key issues to look for?

Does it come with the subframe?
If not you don't want it, as getting the subframe separately would be tough.

There's no mention of a subframe. Says it will mount to any standard 3pt hitch and PTO. Pictures don't show a subframe, either. What's the consequence of operating without a subframe?
