I was just thinking what a easy Bear year we've had here. Last year there were five that kept us busy bring in the bird feed and sewit each night, keeping the trash in the enclosed trailer. Just a PIA . This spring I only had two different ones on the deck. Thats it. Then this morning on a remote camera 400' up my driveway I see one headed this way. BUT, he didn't come on my deck or is on any camera around my house. Maybe after blueberrys and black berries out back.
The local tagging station by Dec 1st last year had tagged over 50 bear. So I thought maybe no bear this year. But thats not the case. 1627204414566 Bar.jpg

evrey bear that I see step onto my property, never walks away again...
Your criteria for identifying a dangerous animal are a bit misguided. An alternate way to handle it is to only kill those that aren’t afraid of humans or threaten livestock.

I have bears on my property every week and have never needed to kill any of them.

Down close to the city (45 min away) they have a 3 strike rule. They will relocate the bear 3 times at least 10 miles away. If it comes back again they kill it.

Up here we don’t kill bears. They keep the city folk away which we like!

Came up my driveway (view is out my office window—also a good tree stand) Friday evening at quitting time. A smaller second one trailed it a few minutes later—possibly last year’s cub to the first one.

When I saw the title "Bar," I thought it might be the about the shortage of Jack Danielson's and Captain Morgan Rum my buddy Bar Owner is dealing with.....🍸🥃🍺

His distributor is from Syracuse.....none for the whole territory. Probably 20% of upstate New York.

I think it's a lack of bottles(?). Saw something on the news related.

Seriously, he said just Jack and Morgan's pay his lease each month.....

I put Bar...as one trip to North Carolina we were traveling through the blue ridge mts headed to Tenn. A car was stopped on the side of the road I slowed to a stop looking for elk, the woman with a tenn plate on the car pointed and said Bar Bar theres a Bar right there. And yes there was a small Bar...lol
The posts above I'm not sure where you folks are seeing or dispatching bear.
What states are you in ?
I'm in Maine here.(maine now is known as California without the money, same liberal rules, no money to back it up)

These pics are all within a few days of each other. We live in the wilderness and always have friends. We chose to live in their habitat so we have to give them the space they need. Honestly the most likely to outright charge you are the moose. You don’t mess with moose, you find a tree to dodge around and they get tired of chasing you.

Wish we had bears -and wolves- to keep city folk away...
