When lowering the outriggers on your backhoe, do you pull or push the levers towards the driver's seat?

Just got done watching a video of a BX23S and he pulled the levers towards the driver's seat to lower the outriggers.

I've been on quite a few backhoe machines, and I've always had to pull the lever towards the seat to RAISE the outriggers. For instance.... Driving down a road, look back and see them starting to lower, reach back and pull towards me (driver's seat) to raise back up and you're good for another mile or two. (Older machines that tend to leak down on their own).

Odd to see they were backwards on the 23S.

A high end BH has electronic levers and you can program them to do any function in what ever direction you want. Usually it is a left hand/right hand preference of the primary operator.
My BX, the riggers are pull back to lower, push forward to raise.
When I get on a machine, I move the lever. If the tool does not move as my first guess was, I change the direction of my movement....

Mine is push for down, pull for up.
Seems intuitive that way.

My BH77 has the levers bent over at about 90 degrees towards the operator so it is push down for down, pull up for up. If the levers were straight up rather than bent over it would translate to pull towards the operator for down and push away for up.

Well, that's just ass backwards from every TLB I've ever encountered.
I have been watching more Kubota BH videos while paying attention to the outrigger operations and it appears that they are all like this.

I had a 4 stick 1985? Ford 655a several years ago. The outrigger controls worked opposite of that of my Kubota.
On the Ford pushing the stick to the rear lowered the stabilizer.
My ability to learn new things has diminished and I'm forever getting the Kubota controls mixed up.

I understand completely!
After 29 years of owning a 4 stick Ford 3400, 3 years of a Kubota L48, and 82 years of age, .....confusion reigns.

I understand that excavators have an option to switch controls between a Cat and Deere style, but I'm talking backhoes.

Deere backhoe the city crew used next street over had the 'magic lever'. I asked cause the operatorshands vs motions seemed 'wrong' to me. 'fun' reigned for HOURS when a hose blew and 6 guys on the city payroll had NO idea what to do......

My little Kubota mini ex has that switch. One position makes operation the same as my Kubota tractor backhoe. That is the position I use...Glad that option is there!
