Found a B7500, unknow year for just under $4k. Tractor has 5k hrs. No attachments. PTO grinds when engaging, I have not seen it yet. This is all info from the seller. Is there anything I should look at that is a common (expensive) issue with these? Yea, I know...not knowing the year can make this difficult...but I'm asking anyway...
On edit...where can I find the data plate?

Personally I'd pass given the hours and issues. That machine was made in the early 2000's. You may have put as much money into it as your going to pay for it.

What is your intended use? With the hours on it, the PTO problem and no attachments, you would be better off looking for one that has no issues and some attachments of some kind.

Intented use is, mostly just dragging a harrow and land plane around (driveway, parking area and several paths are covered with rock)...the riding mower and the wifes little ATV aren't cutting it.

If you don't need the PTO, and don't need a loader, then you may be able to get that machine cheap.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a tractor without a loader and a PTO that works. Once you have one it'll suddenly turn out that you have lots of jobs beyond pulling a harrow and land plane. A loader makes every job easier. The PTO lets you drive all sorts of implements - I drive my wood chipper, you could also potentially run a rotary cutter or flail mower. Perhaps a snow blower if you get snow.

Yea....I'm running, LOL. Started thinking about the projects I've done around here and decided a bucket would have made them much easier...and the PTO grinding on engagement could be an expensive fix. Thanks all!

The PTO grinding could be as simple as a clutch linkage adjustment.
But 5K (WOW) on a little tractor like that, it's seen a lot of use over the years!

I am not a genius, nor very smart! But many more hours over 2500 makes me very suspicious! Unless your a good Mechinic and think 800 to 1000 is A GOOD DEAL. I may want more but I'D LIKE TO=HE MOON! TOO.
