Looking for information from anyone who has experience using a B7500 with a 54***8221;MMM. I am taking care of my father***8217;s yard this year because his health has declined. He has a B7500 with the 54***8221;MMM which previous to this I had only used a little bit. He bought it used 4 years ago and today it had 586 hours on it. Mowing with it, the tractor loses rpm***8217;s in any sort of incline even in low range. His yard is far from flat and I spend a lot of time at a crawl. Are these tractors lacking power for the mower? Other than lacking power the tractor runs fine, no smoke, clean fuel and air filter. I checked the mower and it spins freely by hand. Am I expecting too much considering I am used to my B2920 with 60***8221; deck that rarely works it enough so that I need to slow down. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Something is wrong, that model tractor will run a 60" deck with no issues normally.

BAP - -

Your Dad's B7500 has a similar output to my BX2360, and should drive a 54" MMM just fine...I do some real steep stuff also....like Wolfman says, 60" should work too.

You're no rookie....thinking fuel filter?..fuel pump - - looks like it has a mechanical fuel pump like my old cars?...what about HST service, or filter, or what fluid?....maybe MMM gear box?

Just throwing some ideas out there, bud. Hopefully you can narrow it down. Doesn't sound right to me either.

PS - - if fuel flow, etc, is good, check the fuel pump....Happens going uphill... Not the Injection pump, looks like it has a mechanical cam-driven fuel lift pump... .first I would suspect on mine is the electric lift pump.

If it's clean and damp, it might be leaking..meaning shot. Was a common thing for GM gasoline V-8 small blocks....did enough of them laying on my back in the snow...

Good luck!

Put a new fuel pump on it about 16 months ago. Tractor runs smooth with no smoke. It might be a little slow reving up, but not noticeable like you usually see with fuel starving. Tomorrow I think I will take the fuel filter off and check for flow coming from the tank. The only other thing I was wondering if the transmission filter and screen could be getting dirty enough to cause the hydrostat to take more power.

With new fuel pump, I think you're heading in the right direction.

Like 'Cat says, seems to be a lot of algal issues lately. You will ascertain that as you follow your plan.

Again, good luck!

No, because 3 point is down to lower mower.

Maybe you have some bad fuel with water, gas or algae mixed in?
I put in a biocide and tank cleaner in yesterday. Fuel I am putting in I am pretty sure is not the issue because I fill his jugs and mine at the same time at the gas station and I am not having issues with my tractor. There could be the whole algae issue in the tank itself which I hope the additives will take care of if present.

Does anyone know if Kubota made both a high lift and low lift blade for the RCK54-24B mower deck? If so, do you know the part numbers? I only see 1 choice on the Kubota parts page.

Something is clearly wrong.

I have a 60" MMM on my B1750HST. The B1750 is 17 engine HP and never any power issues in my steep lawn (often FWA needed) with high lift blades. Only one spot where I sometimes need low range.

I would check/replace both air and fuel filters first.

Most likely.

They do for both my 60" and 72" MMMs.

BAP - I’m only going by memory, but I don’t recall options for my RCK54-23BX MMM. Different mower, but same width??

I put Oregon Gaters on it last year. Much heavier than OEM, and little/ no difference in performance or power.

FWIW.....wish I had something more helpful....
