Its a 40 year old machine and the OEM parts are still available, This is a case where I actually consider the "exorbitant" cost soemwhat justified.

Dan, you gave him the wrong part number.
That part is for a B5200E not a B7200HSTD

Here is the right Part Number and Source to get it:
And this is the upgraded part.
They show 2 in stock.

Old part number was: 66204-18420

CAUTION: A lot of parts that show 5 to 10 days order are actually Obsolete and no longer available.

That Messick's price of $178.88 is WAY better than the wrong part number $315, referenced in post # 2

The part number and price came straight ftom the Messicks site. Did I get the wrong "speed change" fork? If so my apologies.

Go back to 1980 when the tractor was made, the part was cheaper then! 10 points to K for still stocking parts on your machine.
Not me!
My only Kubota tractor is a 2006 model.

I used to work with a guy who worked the warehouse for Chrysler that stored new OEM parts for the mfr’r. His job was to go thru the warehouse and identify any OEM parts (whole engines, transmissions, body-parts, individual parts, etc) which were Ten years and 1-month in-storage there…and they were sent to a scrap-dealer for destruction. The total destruction of those parts were verified by his co-worker as part of the contract.
The only parts which escaped that routine…were the ones purchased by aftermarket dealers who bid on parts 10 years exactly to the date of storage….and were distributed into that market.
It was very disturbing work for him to see the perfectly new parts which had not been bid-upon go to the smelter.

Kubotas’ policies of support for our older machines makes me feel warm and fuzzy about owning a Kubota. (I could only get substandard chineese aftermarket and salvage parts for my Ford tractor.)
