I pulled the fill plugs on both front axle ends, expecting to see gear oil close to the fill plug opening, but did not. I ended pulling the drain plugs and draining the oil. There is a decal on both axle ends that says to add .15 qts, which I am guessing is about what came out. Normally I am used to seeing fluid close to the level of the fill plug, but looking at the cavity size, I don't believe .15 qts is going to fill the axle ends. So, what do I do here? I have a quart container of gear oil. Am I suppose to measure out .15 quarts somehow?

I drained the center differential as well. It did not appear that the gear oil was up to the drain plug. The tag indicates .70 quarts, which I can easily measure with the oil in the container.

Thanks, Mike

If you notice all the numbers add up to a quart.
Pull out a tiny bit less than 3/4 of it and then split the remaining in half that's left in the bottle. ;)

Thanks, I did the math after I posted and realized it probably wasn't as complicated as I was making it. I'm just used to seeing requirements of fluid levels being at or close to the fill plug opening. Unfortunately, I drained and refilled the steering box, so I will be short gear oil for the front axle now. I will get another quart to finish the job.

I'm very impressed with how robust these tractors are. Like my wife said, it's a garden tractor on steroids....lol

I agree. In an event of a nuclear holocaust, these machines will be the first to start up & running,... by mutant cockroaches of course.
