Replace or try to fix? Anyone know of a YouTube video showing how to get it off? What usually plays out? The Mechanical Seal? Anyone know of a good place to buy a new pump or the mechanical seal? No experience doing this but tired of paying dealer repair prices. The Kubota Workshop Manual in their instructions states - apply a liquid gasket (Three Bond 1215 or equivalent) to the both sides of gasket. So does that mean you don't need to use a new gasket and just need to seal the original one? Help will be greatly appreciated.

Get a new pump, don't bother trying to replace the seal, and yes new gasket, never use the old gasket, also be careful of removing the old gasket off the gear case as it's aluminum, so no scratching it up.

I don't know of any You Tube water pump how to's for these, but you could search, it's really not that hard of a task. ;)

I recently replaced waterpump on my 1980s era G5200. I learned a few things.

*) The 'chineesium' replacement pumps may not be a perfect fit.
*) The 'made in India' pumps are better quality than the 'chineesium' ones
*) Also replace the hard-to access hoses while the pump is removed.

It goes without saying that Kubota brand pumps will fit perfectly but cost about 4x more than others.

Get the kubota pump....and gasket. Trust me....

Also a good time to flush/refill the system with 50/50 coolant/distilled water mix. May as well look at replacing the belt too since you're going to be right there. Replacing it later on is sort of a pain and you'll then wish you'd done it when you had the radiator out to replace the pump ;)
