I just bought a B219 loader for my 1980 B7100 6 speed. It comes with its own pump that connects to the front PTO and has a separate oil reservoir. My question is why can't it use the tractor hydraulics like the front blade does? Do the cylinders use up more oil than is stored in the tractor reservoir?

GPM (gallons per minute). Your front blade uses one small cylinder to raise and lower the blade. And if you have a hydraulic turn, then another small cylinder to accomplish that. A loader can quit literally use all 4 of the cylinders at the same time. Two while raising the loader, and two more to roll back the bucket. So to fill all 4 cylinders at the same time takes a lot more flow than the front blade. Your cycle time would be very slow if it wasn't for the auxiliary pump.

L4740, thanks. I knew there must be a reason.
