any of you guys own the older B20's?

a couple in my area have popped up.. both were 96 models... HST with FEL & hoe on the back.

both were under $2k both had less than 500hrs on them.

are these better than a BX with a hoe? (can you actually move dirt back in the hole with swinging the bucket)

are they more like a terramite?

they had 20hp engines on them, so wasnt sure if it was a different pump set up or not?

tell me something about them & if they are worth that price range. (cause a BX at $12K worn out isn't)

For that amount - if they work at all are well worth that little bit of change.

B20 is a bigger machine than the BX series - bigger tires - more power too. I would say based on the hydraulics - it is about 50% stronger than a BX25 or similar. All the breakout forces are greater than the BX series.

$2k sounds wayyyyy to cheap, those are $15K + units especially with that low of hours.
Even with mechanical issues they should be $5K to $10K

B20's are a true TLB they were purposely built for a loader and a backhoe, they were also considered commercial units.
While the B20 is the second smallest of the TLB's ( BX25D is the smallest ) they are tough tractors and can do more work and hold up better than a larger B equipped the same way.

I see adds all the time on the local Craig's list offering equipment at unbelievably cheap prices. Scammers.

Ask for an address or location, they will not respond. Often the location shown on the Craig's list add makes no sense...like in the center of the city, but the picture shows a rural location...and so on.

Beware...

Around here, the magic price is $1800. Lately they've started changing a little - $1806, $1809, etc. Sure signal it's a scam. Craig's List and facebook Marketplace.

great input & thank you!

id never heard of a b20.... only the big B25.. which is way out of my play range.

one of these is at a dealer over in the next county. he sent me some more pix of it. Pretty sure that its sat outside its whole life. the paint is super faded & has the white cloudy look to it & there is moisture on the inside of the hour meter glass.

so im not convinced that the hours are actual. he says it starts, runs, operates but other than that they know nothing about it.

in our area the terramites are always 2 wheel drive & abused all to hell, so if picking one of these up is an option under 2k? maybe its worth looking at...

will run over this weekend & see if its actually worth doing anything with it.
